The Story of The Log Collective

A space shaped by history, nature, and a quiet determination to create something meaningful.

Rooted in Story, Refined by Nature

The Log Collective began as a rustic cabin built in 2001 on the edge of a working wine farm in Stellenbosch – originally intended for entertaining, it soon became a peaceful personal sanctuary. Years later, drawn by the setting’s quiet beauty and potential, a postgraduate student named Kobus Groenewald took over the space with a vision: to create something soulful and enduring.

What started as a modest project has grown — slowly and intentionally — into a refined collection of unique stays. Rooted in nature and shaped by story, The Log Collective offers a space to step away, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what matters most.
